I am a first-year MPhil student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, where I am part of the interstellar medium group under the guidance of Prof. Renbin Yan. Prior to this, I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Hong Kong. I also had the chance to broaden my academic experience through a one-semester exchange program at McGill University.
I am currently exploring PhD opportunities for Fall 2024. My research interest lies in conducting research related to both astronomical instrumentation and exoplanetary atmospheres. While I am currently engaged in the development of an optical spectrograph, I am keen to expand my knowledge across various types of instruments. I believe that such advancements in instrumentation can lead to groundbreaking discoveries, providing fresh insights into the mysteries of our universe. On the other hand, when I discovered that spectroscopic observations could provide insights into the chemical composition of exoplanets, I was both surprised and deeply fascinated by the subject. Since then, I have been fully engrossed in learning about it
Throughout my MPhil and BSc studies, I have gained valuable skills in working with spectroscopic data, proficiency in coding, and instrumentation. These experiences have prepared me well for PhD research in the exciting field of exoplanet atmospheres analysis and the development of next-generation instruments.
